Yes, they are removable just as vinyl decals are but they contain no harmful chemicals as vinyl stickers sometimes do. And because they aren’t utilizing petroleum-based vinyl, they are a more ecological choice than most other decals.

Incredibly, these fabric wall stickers are entirely removable, washable as well as reusable. They will adhere to similar flat surfaces as vinyl decals do (walls, glass, mirrors, furniture, etc). Mae even claim that their decals can be squeezed, scrunched into balls, played with and then re-applied to the walls over and over.
You understand the implications: these are perfect decals for children. Should your young ones take down the decals: no problem, they go back up. If they play with them, no sweat, it’s just fabric. If they dirty them, simply wash them! Because they are removable and reusable it will be possible for your children to move them around and recreate their decor as they wish. That’s good for the imagination!

At the time of this writing, the Mae team is not taking any custom orders therefore you will have to select from their existing catalogue – not that this is any cause for concern, it is a gorgeous selection. Their wall sticker sets include animals, trees and nature, dress up figures, cars, tea time and more.
Certainly the Mae wall stickers won’t go with any kind of decor as they have a distinct personality to them but you can be sure it’s only a matter of time before they come up with more designs and other decal designers are sure to follow suit. All in all, a big thumbs up goes to this creative endeavour.
All this being said, we’re not putting vinyl decals down. They create their own distinct effects and certainly exist in a plethora of designs sure to fit with any interior design. If you’re concerned about the chemical aspect of vinyl, simply go for the ones without phthalates and other heavy chemicals (check with your shop).
